Description	:	Samuel Milton Rogers, son of George and Sarah Rogers, was born August 11, 1858, in Keokuk County near Sigourney, and passed peacefully away at his home in Hedrick, June 10, 1926, at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 29 days. The greater part of his life was spent in and around Sigourney and Hayesville until the last six years he lived in Hedrick, Iowa. Read More	Samuel Milton Rogers, son of George and Sarah Rogers, was born August 11, 1858, in Keokuk County near Sigourney, and passed peacefully away at his home in Hedrick, June 10, 1926, at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 29 days. The greater part of his life was spent in and around Sigourney and Hayesville until the last six years he lived in Hedrick, Iowa. In the year 1885 on December 24th he was united in marriage to Adelia J. Utterback and to this union were born three children. Jim, as he was always called by his friends and neighbors, was always ready to lend a hand in time of need, and was a kind and loving husband and father. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those left which time only can heal. He leaves to mourn their loss his devoted wife, three children, Mrs. Ruby Utterback, Earl and Raymond all of Hayesville, six grandchildren, Wanda Coble who has been in their home since she was three months old, Woodrow and Willard Utterback, and Daisy, Doris and Rex Rogers. Also one brother, Mr. Noah Rogers of Chicago, and one sister, Mrs. William Henson of Hayesville. His illness covered a period of ten years but the last four years he has been a constant sufferer, but he bore his pain with patience and fortitude, symbolical of our Saviour who died that we might live. Until the very last, he wore a smile for everyone. Everything that loving hands could do was done by him, but God's will, not ours, rules all. Funeral services of Mr. Rogers was held at the Hayesville Community Church Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock June 12th, 1926. The service was conducted by Rev. R.V. Pike of Delta a long time friend of the family. The hymms were sung by Mr. Will Martin and Mrs. Gertie Hardesty of Hayesville, Messrs. Tom Utterback and Glen Barnes of Sigourney accompanied by Mrs. Emma Utterback of Hayesville. The pall bearers were Messrs. Will Sherman, Clarence Shadrick, Newt Shaw, Tom Bartoff, Rich Bennett of Hedrick and david Messerschmidt of Hedrick.
