The deceased has been employed at the Olahane grocery on West Broad St and worked there through the day Saturday. His fellow clerks say that he has been despondent for some time over family matters and that recently his wife left him. Since that time he has been drinking and had evidently been worrying greatly. He was a member of the Retail Grocery Clerks union and of the Trades Assembly. The deceased has no relatives in the city, but a brother from Urbana will claim the remains which are now in charge of the Schoedinger undertaking. (Died from using alcohol & opium) St Paris -Oct 12, 1904 Samuel Woods, an account of whose suicide appeared in the city Tuesday evening, Woods one time one of the best known citizens of this county and quite prominent in politics. He was deputy recorder under Michael Jordan and Court Bailiff under Judge Geiger. He was a son of the late Ex-Commisioner Woods of the west end.
