Read More	S.O.Eaddy Died August 7th in Hospital Johnsonville, August 8 - S. O. Eaddy, 78, prominent Johnsonville resident, died at 7:10 Thursday night, Aug.7, in the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Hemingway. Mr. Eaddy was a former member of the South Carolina House Of Representatives, having served two terms from Florence County and two terms from Williamsburg County and had farming interest near Johnsonville. Funeral services were held in the Morris Funeral Home in Hemingway at 11 o'clock Saturday morning, conducted by the Rev. W. T. Waters of Johnsonville, the Rev. George Denton and the Rev. E. B. Johnson of Hemingway. Burial followed in the family plot in the Old Johnsonville Cemetery. Mr. Eaddy was the son of the late Henry E. Eaddy and Eliza Huggins Eaddy of Johnsonville where he was born and spent the greater part of his life. He was a school superintendent for many years having served in a number of schools in Orangeburg and Florence counties. Mr. Eaddy devoted much time to newspaper work having been owner and editor of the Johnsonville Progress and the Berkley Gazzette of Monks Corner. He was a talented musician and taught public school music several years. He was one of this section's church leaders having served the Methodist church as Sunday School superintendent. Active pallbearers were: Dr. Norman Eaddy, Waldon S. Eaddy, Herman D. Eaddy, Edward A. Eaddy, Dr. A. M. DeCamps and H. M. Floyd. Mr. Eaddy was twice wed, and by his first wife, the late Nena Carson Eaddy, the following children survive: four sons, Virgil Eaddy, Herbert M. Eaddy, Wondrow Eaddy and Ruston, all of Johnsonville; seven daughters, Miss Lila Lee Eaddy and J. C. Patterson of Columbia, Mrs W. H. Boineau of Baltimore, Md., Miss Winfred Eaddy of Carthage, N. C. , Mrs Hazel E. Strickland of Asheboro, N. C.,Mrs George Patsons of Greenwood and Mrs. Vernon Faircloth of Charlotte, N. C. Also surviving is his widow, Mrs. C. A. Eaddy; one brother, John M. Eaddy of Spartenburg; one sister, Mrs. R. B. W. Dickson of Johnsonville and 15 grandchildren.
