March 16, 1871 Samuel married Sarah Smiley in Monterey. He was 76, she was 26 (March 28, 1871 Staunton Spectator). Susanna (Waybright) Rexrode died April 25, 1868 near Monterey of jaundice & dropsy. Age 67 years. Parents Michael & Cath. Waybright. Born Strait Creek. Consort of Samuel Rexrode. Its not known at this time what happened to Mrs. Waggy. Staunton Spectator February 23, 1887 Last Veteran of 1812 Gone. Mr. Christian Rexrode, a soldier of the war of 1812, and the last one living in Highland county. Died 2 miles east of Monterey on Sunday morning last, at the advanced age of 96 years. He has been receiving a pension for services rendered in that war.
