Description	:	Samuel Robert "Bob" Lilly, a long time resident of the Brewster area, died Monday, March 1, 1999 after an extended illness. He was born Feb. 21, 1922, the son of Harry and Margaret (Hanford) Lilly at Bridgeport. Bob grew up in Bridgeport at the family farm on Foster Creek and graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1940. He was born Feb. 21, 1922, the son of Harry and Margaret (Hanford) Lilly at Bridgeport. Bob grew up in Bridgeport at the family farm on Foster Creek and graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. On Jan. 17, 1948 he married Pearl E. Borner and in 1950 they moved to Brewster. Bob worked as an auto mechanic at Word Motors for a number of years. He retired from Rio Auto in 1984. He was well known in the community as the engine expert, often volunteering his services. Bob was active in the Brewster Volunteer Fire Department and served as the color guard for the Brewster American Legion Post #97. He is survived by his wife, Pearl at the home; a daughter, Marcia Knudson of Lake Stevens and a son, Steve of Brewster; a sister, Nita Cumming of Deer Lake; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a great-grandson. Memorials may be made to the Brewster Volunteer Fire Department. Services under the direction of Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
