Description : Samuel Wesley Reavis, was son of Lewis Pleasant and Mary Coghill Reavis. In June, 1861, just prior to his 18th birthday, he enlisted in the 23rd Reg, Co G. He was captured at Winchester, VA, Shenandoah Vally, on Sept. 19, 1864, while on picket. He was confined at Point Lookout, MD, Sept. 23, 1864.
After the war, Samuel married Sallie Margaret Baskett, who lived in the Spring Valley Community in Vance Co, NC. They had 6 children.
Many of their descendants are prominent residents today in the Flat Rock Community and Harris Crossroads Community.
