Younger, a well-known resident of the City, died last evening at his home on Diamond Hill after a long illness at age eighty two. For several years Mr. Younger had been losing strength, and the members of his family and his friends observed with anxiety the gradual decline of his health. Younger, a well-known resident of the City, died last evening at his home on Diamond Hill after a long illness at age eighty two. For several years Mr. Younger had been losing strength, and the members of his family and his friends observed with anxiety the gradual decline of his health. In spite of his increased debility, he continued cheerful and active in the discharge of his duties and from all appearances the useful years of his life had by no means departed. About three weeks ago he was compelled to take to his bed, and after that his condition rapidly became serious until it reached such a critical stage that all hope for his recovery was abandoned. He did not suffer from any special malady, but seemed to be sinking to rest under the weight of advancing years. For several days before the close of his life, his condition was such as to preclude any possibility of recovery, and those who watched at his bedside waited for the end which they saw was inevitable. He passed away last night at a quarter to ten o'clock. Mr. Younger married Miss Elizabeth Tyree, a daughter of John Tyree and besides her he is survived by four children: Miss Nanny Younger, Mrs. Ellen Dudley, Mr. John J. Younger and Mrs. S. B. Younger. Burial in the Presbyterian Cemetery.
