Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Platte. A Committal Service will follow at the Platte City Cemetery. Sandra Sue (Gray) Hoy was born on July 22, 1955 in Platte, South Dakota to Elmer and Marilyn (Wright) Gray. She graduated from Platte High School in 1973 and continued her education at Mitchell Vo-Tech, graduating in 1974. She began working at the Platte Coop and was employed there for 33 years. Sandy was united in marriage to Paul Hoy on February 5, 1977 in Platte. To this union a daughter, Kara was born. Sandy was an active member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Platte, participating in the Circle and serving as a Sunday School teacher. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. Sandy really enjoyed creating cards on the computer for friends and family, as well as going for rides in her powerchair. Grateful for having shared in Sandy's life: her daughter, Kara (Chad) Engel of Plankinton, SD; seven grandchildren: Alexus, Connor, Destinee, Aspen, Kiana Braiden and Lily; her special friend, Ronnie Sternburg of Platte, SD; two sisters, Kristi (Bill) Chenoweth of Springfield, SD and Jolinda Gray (Gene Blaker) of Vermillion, SD; a nephew, Jason Chenoweth of Hurley, SD; a niece, Jonda (Roberto) Alegria of McKinney, TX; a great-niece, Natalia Alegria of McKinney, TX; and numerous cousins and friends. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Marilyn Gray.
