Description	:	Sara Frances Hodges was born in Clayton, Ia., March 5, 1881. She died Friday, October 22nd, 1920 at the Campbell hospital in Norfolk following an operation. She moved from Clayton, Ia., to Elkader and later to Neola and Des Moines, Ia., where she taught school, and later was employed as a teacher in the 4-C Business College in Des Moines for several years. She and her father and sister went to Stanley County, S. D., and homesteaded in the year 1906. In 1910 she was married to Wm. J. Van Brocklin and to this union four children were born, Margaret,... Read More	Sara Frances Hodges was born in Clayton, Ia., March 5, 1881. She died Friday, October 22nd, 1920 at the Campbell hospital in Norfolk following an operation. She moved from Clayton, Ia., to Elkader and later to Neola and Des Moines, Ia., where she taught school, and later was employed as a teacher in the 4-C Business College in Des Moines for several years. She and her father and sister went to Stanley County, S. D., and homesteaded in the year 1906. In 1910 she was married to Wm. J. Van Brocklin and to this union four children were born, Margaret, Louise, Wilma and Eliazbeth. She is survived by her husband, four children, one brother, L. C. Hodges of White River, S.D. and one sister, Louise Hodges, of Council Bluffs, Ia. The remains arrived in Creighton on Saturday afternoon and the funeral was held from St. Ludger's Catholic church on Sunday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Father Windolph and was attended by a large concourse of friends and relatives. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. The deceased was a life long member of the Catholic church and a good christian who not only professed her religion but practiced it. She was a woman of exceptional qualities and was a loving and capable mother and friends. May she rest in peace. To the bereaved relatives we extend our heartfelt sympathy in this their sad hour.
