The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of the service. At other times they will be at the home of her daughter, Vickie. Born May 15, 1916, in Stanly County, she was a daughter of the late Walter Chaney Clark and the late Nealie Eltis Hathcock Clark and was retired from American and Efird Mills. She was an avid gardener, played the piano, golfed and bowled. She was a member of New Vision Baptist Church in Albemarle. Her husband, Evans Byron Barbee; five sons, Jerry, Lane, Larry, Michael, and Tony, and a brother, Artis Clark, all preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Sue B. Hill and husband, Garry, of Hilliard, Fla., Vickie B. Winfrey and husband, Bob, of Albemarle; a daughter-in-law, Sharon V. Barbee of Lexington; three sisters, Bertha Sossamon of Stanley, Erma Furr of Locust and Eltis Morton of Albemarle; grandchildren, Sherry Harding, Jeff Winfrey, Jennifer Griggs, Christie Talbert, Michael Hill and Andy Barbee; 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. Second St., Albemarle, NC 28001 or Troop 232, Tony Barbee Scout Center c/o Churchland Baptist Church, 7516 S.
