The angel of death called at 3:30 and the life of one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of Columbus Junction went out. Mrs. Williams had seen the springtime, summer, fall and winter of life and yet was a well preserved and hearty old lady, who until her illness had been able to help much with the work around her home. She could walk for some distance and was more straight in appearance than many young persons. Sarah A. Clark was born in Wayne County, Ohio , March 18, 1821. When a child she moved with her parents to Indiana. Here on the 12th of September, 1839, she was united in marriage to Abiathar Williams. They came to Iowa, which has since been the home of the deceased, in 1841 settling on a farm. Mr. Williams died May 25, 1886, and since that time Mrs. Williams' home has been with her daughter Mrs. Jos. Dotson. Her home had been in Louisa County since 1853, and for a number of years in Columbus Junction. Mrs. Williams was the mother of five children, three died in infancy. The other two survive the mother. They are: Josephine W., ( Mrs. Jos. Dotson), of this place; and Ward W., of Wapello. Funeral services will be held from the late home at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. S. R. Drake, of the Christian church. Burial at the Long Creek cemetery. The services at the grave will be in charge of the Ladies of Rebecca lodge. Mrs. Williams was of a kind gentle disposition and had many friends who will greatly miss her pleasant, happy face. She loved the beautiful in nature and in art and was always doing the work her hands found to do.
