Description	:	Mrs. Sarah Snodgrass, a former well known resident of Emerson and vicinity, died at the home January 6 of her niece, Mrs. Dora Kelley, in Omaha. Jan. 6, aged 84 years. Funeral services were held in the Baptist church in Emerson Thursday afternoon, Jan. 9, conducted by t h e pastor, Rev. Joseph Stille. Interment was in the Emerson cemetery. Sarah Kelley was born in Ohio Jan. 6, 1854. She came to Iowa at an early age locating in the vicinity of Emerson. where she was later married to W. A. Sarah Kelley was born in Ohio Jan. 6, 1854. She came to Iowa at an early age locating in the vicinity of Emerson. where she was later married to W. A. Snodgrass and they went to housekeeping on what is now known as the Alfred Cooper farm southeast of Emerson. It is Interesting to note that this house burned down the day before she died. Both Mr. and Mrs. Snodgrass united with the Champion Hill Presbyterian church In March, 1883. They were faithful members and workers in that church for many years. In the fall of 1898 they moved to Emerson and later joined the Baptist church which continued to be their church home. In their Christian home relatives and friends were always made welcome. Mr. Snodgrass passed away in 1919 after which she lived alone until five years ago she went to Carroll, Nebr. to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Elder. Mrs.Elder's health failing, later Mrs. Snodgrass went to live with her niece in Omaha where she was at the time of her death. A face so kind, a heart so true, A hand with a loving touch Will be missed by all who really knew Ah yes! very much. No wave or smile to greet us As by her home we go No sign of her at the doorstep The place we have come to know. with the thought of the voice and the smile we love. Just a memory in our mind. It would please God above who watches over all If we would remember that love. Our hearts in a wondering peaceful mood, Content that the loved one we knew Is safe in a heaven of rest evermore All will be met in the sunset's glow. Gaile D. Hines.
