Read More	Obituary -- Sarah Ann Lowe Sarah Ann Brunigan was born in Franklin, Trimble county, Kentucky, April 23, 1830 and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Martin Cahalen March 24, 1921. She was ninety years, eleven months and one day old. Her father died when she was three months old. Her mother moved to Franklin, Indian to live when she was three years old and at the age of sixteen she was united in marriage to J.L. Bridges and to this union was born one son who died in infancy. In later years she was married to James Townsend and to this union was born seven sons and three daughters, of these ten, two have gone before. In 1870 she was married to Lawrence Lowe. To this union was born one daughter, Mrs. Opal Abbott of Franklin, Indiana. All of these children were with her with the exception of Mrs. Opal Abbot of Franklin, Ind., Mr. Lawrence Townsend, of Oregon and Mrs. Cox, who underwent an operation about two weeks ago. At the age of thirty she accepted the Savior and united with the Christian church and for over sixty years has lived a devoted Christian life and was still held as a member of the same church, Old Union, near Franklin, Indiana. She was a loving mother of eleven children. About twelve years ago she decided that she was too old to keep a home of her own and decided to spend the remaining days with her children. She came to Kansas to spend a part of the time, arriving her the last time on September 29, 1920 and spent the evening of her life with her daughter, Mrs. Martin Cahalen. When the shades of night began to lower she said, "This is old age and I am ready to go". Later she called her daughter, Mrs. Cahalen, and said "I see Jesus standing on my bed. He has come to take me". She was able to talk until the very end naming her grandsons as pall bearers. There remains to mourn her loss, nine children, twenty one grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the U.B. Church with the Rev. Isom Eskridge officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Highland cemetery. Iola Register Mar. 30, 1921
