William Edmonds and Elizabeth Blackwell, on August 24, 1807, after the death of her husband's first wife. Sarah Battaile Fitzhugh and Elias Edmonds had two daughters and lived at "Mt. Airy" in Fauquier County. Sarah Edmonds's reason for wearing a mourning brooch in her 1808 portrait is unclear.
