Kylker Funeral Tuesday A Long Time Resident of Elk Township Died Suddenly At Her Home East of Edgewood The funeral of Sarah C. Kyler occurred at the home east of this place Tuesday afternoon, February 9th, Rev. Wessel preaching the sermon. Interment was made in Edgewood Cemetery. Mrs. Kyler had been ill for the past two weeks with pneumonia, but under the kind administrations of her son, Allie Barnes, she was thought to be getting along as well as could be expected. Mr. Barnes sat up with his mother Friday night and along toward morning she told him to lie down and rest as she was feeling pretty good. He then laid down on the floor by the side of her couch and fell into sleep, and was shocked when when he awoke within a very short time that she had expired without a struggle. Her maiden name was Bowers and she had been twice married, the first time to Mr. Barnes, who died several years ago. Later in life she married Mr. Kyler, the blind man, who died a few years ago. She was 62 years and 11 months of age at the time of her death and leaves to mourn her death, two sons, Allie Barnes of Wood, George Barnes of Mason City; two daughters, Mrs. Amos Hook of Elkport, and Mrs. Fred Burgin of Greeley; five brothers and two sisters. The sympathy of all friends goes to the bereaved relatives and especially the son with whom she had lived for so many happy years.
