Description	:	Wife of Lowder S Willin. Sarah gave birth to at least 18 children, probably more. Of the 18 children, several died as newborns or young children. Alton, Winfield, Raleigh, Tilghman, Wilbur, Roland all lived into adulthood. Jasper died at age 17. All children that survived were males. Sarah was taken from her bedroom window at the age of 13 by the much-older Lowder Willin, who had been forbidden to be around the Stevens girls by their father, Allison. Allison and his wife Sarah were very concerned about the attention that Lowder gave to the young girls. Could Sarah have been pregnant? A quickie marriage at the parsonage was granted by Rev R.B. Hazzard on 10 Nov 1885 and documented in Dorchester County records. The first known child was Alton, who was born 10 months after the marriage. It is suspected that Sarah may have believed she was pregnant, or lost a child to get pregnant immediately after.
