Description	:	It was with deep sorrow that friends learned of the passing from this life of Mrs. William M. Peterson, on the 28th of December 1926. In her departure, the community lost a valued member, who was ever ready to assist in the better things of life, and will be greatly missed by loved ones and friends. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, at 1:00 o'clock, at the M. E. Church in Mt. Etna, and interment was made in the Forest Hill Cemetery, beside loved ones who had preceded her in death. In her departure, the community lost a valued member, who was ever ready to assist in the better things of life, and will be greatly missed by loved ones and friends. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, at 1:00 o'clock, at the M. E. Church in Mt. Etna, and interment was made in the Forest Hill Cemetery, beside loved ones who had preceded her in death. The following obituary will be of interest to all who knew this good lady. Sarah Cornelia Peterson, beloved wife of William Monroe Peterson, and daughter of William and Rachel Stover, was born January 5, 1860 in Kewanee, Illinois. At the age of 5 years she moved with her parents to the farm southwest of Mr. Etna, Iowa, where she made her home. On February 14, 1907, Sarah Cornelia Stover was united in marriage to William Monroe Peterson. She was a devoted wife and helpmate, making a home and taking the place of "mother" in the lives of three families of children, who through acts of fate, were denied their own mother's love and guidance. In early life she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and united with the First Day Adventist Church and for the past 26 year had been an active and faithful member of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Etna. Mrs. Peterson's last illness confined her to her bed for the past four months, and although all was done that human hands and medical science could do, she suffered much physical pain. She has left the stamp of Christian motherhood upon the children she has striven to guide and in unselfish and sacrificial service continued active in the faith and hope That had been her keeping power through life until the end. She departed this life December 26, 1926, at the age of 66 years, 11 months, and 3 days, leaving to mourn her departure in the immediate family circle her husband, Mr. William Peterson, three sons of her sister, Mary Stover Peterson, namely, Albert C. William D., and Willard L. Peterson. six grandchildren of her stepsons, A. C. and W. D. Peterson, namely Carl, William, Mary, John, Elizabeth, and Thelma Peterson; two brothers, S. A. Stover of Kingsburg, California; L. D. Stover of Signet, Oklahoma, and one sister, Mrs. Lizzie S. Peterson of Corning. as well as many other relatives and friends, who will all prize the memory of a greatly beloved and worthy Christian character called to be at home with God.
