The following is a somewhat more extended reference to the life and death of this splendid Christian woman. Saral Elizabeth Lott was born near Newark, illinois, May 11, 1854. She was married to W. E. Kiser, Feb. 5, 1885 and at once they moved to Andale, Kansas where they lived until 1902 when they moved to the farm east of Sedgwick. Four sons, Orville of Hector, Minn.; Stephen, who is pastor of the Methodist church at Burden, Kansas, and Elmer and Floyd, of this place, all were present at the funeral. One sister, Mrs. Oslessen, lives at Pueblo, Colo., another, Jennie R. Lott, resides at Downers Grover, Ill., and a brother, Rev. R. L. Lott, lives in Chicago. Mrs. Kiser was converted in childhood and joined the Methodist church, of which she was ever a consistent and faithful member. Her death, which occurred at 3 o'clock on the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 19, was triumphant and beautiful in the extreme. With the upraised hand and a smile on her face she was welcomed by the angel of God. For her indeed there was no dark valley. For nearly two years Sister Kiser had been making an heroic fight for the restoration of health, but it was not to be. To the sorrowing loved ones we would only say; "God hath given and God hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord."
