Description	:	Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Elliott, 94, widow of Jacob Ervin Elliot, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004, in Georgetown Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 8, 1910, in the Good Hope community of Georgetown County, a daughter of the late Stephen Walker Avant and Cynthia Cornelia Cribb Avant. Mrs. Elliott had been a faithful member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years and was also a member of the Esther-Fidelis Sunday School Class, the Hannah Plowden Group and the Young As Ever Group. She was born Sept. 8, 1910, in the Good Hope community of Georgetown County, a daughter of the late Stephen Walker Avant and Cynthia Cornelia Cribb Avant. Mrs. Elliott had been a faithful member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years and was also a member of the Esther-Fidelis Sunday School Class, the Hannah Plowden Group and the Young As Ever Group. She was a faithful prayer warrior for her family, her church family and her friends. Surviving are: three sons, L. Randolph Elliott, Sr., James E. Elliott and his wife Margaret Ann, Paul G. Elliott, Sr. and his wife Margaret, all of Georgetown; six grandsons, L. Randolph Elliott, Jr., David Craig Elliott, Keith Edward Elliott, Andrew Stephen Elliott, Paul Glen Elliott, Jr., and Jacob Mattison Elliott; 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; two brothers, Remar W. Avant and W. Lavern Avant, both of Georgetown; two sisters, Ina A. Williamson of Malvern, Ark. and Harriett A. Moore of Georgetown, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Rick Alan Elliott on Feb. 27, 2004 and a daughter-in-law, Frances M. (Nocky) Elliott on June 15, 2004. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Graham Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church. Officiating will be Dr. Ted Sherrill and the Rev. Hiram Mcelrath. Burial, directed by Graham Funeral Home, will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
