Census, farmer and proprietor Daniel Smith, 58, born U.S., was living in St. James Parish with Rachel, 54, born U.S.; Hiram, 23; William, 19; and Elizabeth, 13, all born in N.B. Daniel and Rachel moved to Canada in 1817.
