The deceased was united in marriage in Montour county, Pa., to Alfred Hafer December 17, 1867. To this union seven children were born, three dying in infancy. Read More	Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent Friday, 7 September 1917 Sarah Elle Luken was born in Montour county, Pa., August 14, 1844 and died at her home near Phillips, Neb., Sept. 1, 1917. The deceased was united in marriage in Montour county, Pa., to Alfred Hafer December 17, 1867. To this union seven children were born, three dying in infancy. The remaining four are Mrs. Anna Chambers of Aurora, Neb.,; Mrs. Ella Noble, Mr. David Hafer and Miss Hattie Hafer, all of near Phillips, Neb. Besides a sister, Mrs. Howard Billmeyer of Washingtonville, Pa., and two brothers, James F. Luken, of Three Rivers, Mich., also four grandsons and four granddaughters and more distant relatives are left to mourn her death. She moved to Hamilton county, Neb., in 1873 and resided there until death on the old homestead. She united with the Evangelical church November 17, 1870 and after moving to Hamilton county, she transferred her membership to the M. E. church and was one of the first members of the Alvin chapel. The funeral services were held at the Alvin Chapel Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and interment made in the Aurora cemetery by the side of her husband. Rev. E. C.
