Confare, 80, who died at her home 317 I avenue, early Thursday morning, was held from the residence this afternoon at 2:30, with Rev. Benthin of Central Presbyterian church in charge. There was a large group of relatives and old friends and neighbors present to pay their final tribute to one of Nevada's pioneer women--a resident of Nevada for over half a century. Mrs. Confare had died after an invalidism of about a year, heart affliction being the cause of her death. The maiden name of the deceased was Sarah Ellen Rice, born at Westfield, Illinois, February 24, 1851. It was on December 21, 1868, that she was married to Ambrose K. Banks, at Rockford, Ill. Two years later they moved out to Iowa and located first at Iowa Center, where they lived of nine years. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Banks, but one of them died in infancy and was laid toe rest in the cemetery at Iowa Center. In 1877 they moved to Nevada and this had been the home of Mrs. Confare since. Sarah Banks was married to Norman H. Confare September 16, 1903 and he died December 30, 1919. She leaves three sons, Howard A. Banks, Arthur W. Banks and Jay K. Banks, all of Nevada and two daughters, Mrs. Edith Sthugart of Nevada and Mrs. Alma Allen of Ames. There are also 8 grand shildren and 3 great grandchildren. Among the relatives from out of the city here for the furneral were the daughter, Alma Allen of Ames, the grandsons Gail Allen of Cornell college, Mt. Vernon, and Lyle Allen of Ames, and three cousins Mrs. Anna Graves and Mrs. Flemming and Fred Banks of Des Moines. Mrs. Confare had bong been a member of Central Presbyterian church and during the years that she was active and able to take part the affairs outside of the home, was a worker in the societies of that church.
