Description	:	Mrs. Galbraith's maiden name was Sarah Frances Damery. She was born in Cork county, Ireland, September 29, 1836. She came to America in 1844 and spent her girlhood days in and near Hartford, Conn. She was married to Alexander Galbraith in Hartford on February 17, 1864 and they came to Cedar county, Iowa, where they resided until the spring of 1871, when they moved to Sac county. They, moved to their home in Douglas township in 1884, residing there until the fall of 1902, when they moved to Sac City, where they have since lived. She was married to Alexander Galbraith in Hartford on February 17, 1864 and they came to Cedar county, Iowa, where they resided until the spring of 1871, when they moved to Sac county. They, moved to their home in Douglas township in 1884, residing there until the fall of 1902, when they moved to Sac City, where they have since lived. To Mr. and Mrs.Galbraith were born seven children, namely: William A., a resident of Sac City: Geo. II, whose home is in Calhoun county near Fonda: Lena, wife of W. L. Cole of Douglas township; Frank E., who resides in Douglas township: Charles W., a resident of Whittier. Cal.; Rutherford B., whose home is at Newell: and Bessie, wife of D. H. Waters of Delaware township. All of the children were present at the time of their mother's death but Charles, whose home was too far away. Besides her husband and the children, Mrs. Galbraith is survived by eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was a charter member of the First Presbyterian church at Sac City and was also a member of the Rebekah lodge. These simple facts do not tell all the story of this good woman's life. She endured the foil and privations of Sac county's pioneer days, and did her part in establishing a home and providing for her glowing family. Her devotion to her family did not present her from lending a helpful hand to neighbors in time of j sickness or other need. Her more than four score years were well spent and she passed to her reward quickly with but little suffering. (Newell Mirror, 11-23-1916)
