Fenlon, after an illness of several weeks, at the age of 67 years, 1 month, 16 days. Deceased leaves to mourn her departure, four children, three sons and one daughter: Fred Flynn, of Stanbury. Mo., W. P. Flynn, of Ulysses, J. B. Flynn of Omaha, Mrs. P. F. Fenlon of this city, with whom she has made her home the past fifteen years. Mrs. Flynn was born in north Ireland, coming to America forty years ago, stopping in Illinois where she was united in marriage to Mr. Flynn. Four years later they removed to Nebraska, locating in Butler county, where they continued to reside until called to their eternal reward, Mr. Flynn having departed this life twenty years ago this coming May. Mrs. Flynn was a firm believer in Christianity during her life, although she had not affiliated with any church denomination in David City, but she was received into the Catholic church during her late illness. She was peacefully and happily resigned to her fate and in her last hours was permitted to say, in the language of St. Paul: Not my will, oh, Lord, but thy will be done. Funeral services were held at St Mary's church in this city Tuesday, April 30th, at 10 o'clock a.m., Rev. Father Caraher conducting the funeral services. Remains were laid to rest in St. Mary's cemetery beside those of her husband. May her soul rest in everlasting peace is the wish and prayers of many friends. ``````````` Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), May 8, 1907, p. 5, col. 4 Obituary Mrs. Sarah Flynn was born in Philadelphia, Penn., March 12, 1840 and came to Stephenson county, Ill. when a girl of 18 when in 1861 she was married to Frank Flynn. They lived in Illinois until the fall of 1871 when she removed to Butler county, Nebr. and has always lived i this county with the exception of five years that she and two of her boys lived on her homestead in Perkins county. After proving up on her land, which she still owned at the time of her death, she came back to David City and for the past fifteen years has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. P. F. Fenlon. Mrs. Flynn cvame of Irish parentage, her father and mother being both born in Belport, Ireland. She was a good and kind-hearted person to which all of the early pioneer settlers of this county can testify. She leaves to mourn her loss one daughter, Mrs. Fenlon, and three sons Fred of Stanbury, Mo., Dr. Walter of Ulysses and Roy of Omaha, two sisters and one brother, Samuel Mertin of Pawnee City, Mrs. Sinks of Central City and Mrs. Bird of Clarks, Neb.
