She taught rural school in Brookings County till 1940. She married Homer Ponto on June 5th, 1940, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They farmed together near Brookings, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie and Lars Overskei Sr., her husband, Homer Ponto, one son, Warren Ponto, one sister, Minerva, and two brothers, Orvin and Ernest. She is survived by: One son, Gary Ponto of Brookings, South Dakota, three granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, one sister, Edna Horman, of San Diego, California, two brothers, Lars Overskei Jr. of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Lyman Overskei of Nunda, South Dakota.
