Description	:	She died at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital, knowing that she trusted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, she is now face to face with him. She was the daughter of the late George Hector Kirven, Sr. and Euphala Jordan Kirven. She was their first child and christened Sarah Iyone Kirven. Her family moved to the town of Bowman, SC, when she was a young child. She attended and graduated from Bowman High School participating in activities like the basketball team and cheerleading. She was the daughter of the late George Hector Kirven, Sr. and Euphala Jordan Kirven. She was their first child and christened Sarah Iyone Kirven. Her family moved to the town of Bowman, SC, when she was a young child. She attended and graduated from Bowman High School participating in activities like the basketball team and cheerleading. She was crowned Miss Bowman in 1948. She met and fell in love with John Robert Weathers and they were married in 1950. They enjoyed 53 wonderful years together, before his death in 2004. They had two daughters, Deborah Hargrove of Charleston, SC and Deidre Harmon of Lexington, SC. She loved her family and received much pleasure in serving others. In her younger years, she was active in many community activities, such as, the Bowman Garden Club, Bowman Study Club, PTA President, SC Republican Party. She served as a poll manager in her community. She was an avid Clemson Tiger fan, being an IPTAY member and attending the football games. She was a faithful member of Bowman Southern Methodist Church, where she served in numerous capacities; one especially that she enjoyed was organizing the Chrismon decorations. She was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class and Bible Study Group. She served as the Bible School Director. She also enjoyed being a member of the choir for over 50 years. She was a charter member of the Gladys Weathers Missionary Society. She leaves behind her two daughters: Deborah (Larry) Hargrove of Charleston, SC and Deidre (Steven) Harmon of Lexington, SC. Grandsons: John Norris (Melanie) Harmon of Lexington, SC and Jordan W. (Jenny) Harmon of Pendleton, SC. Step-granddaughter: Lisa H. (Ashley) West of Virginia Beach, VA. Great-grands: Suzi, Michael, Ivey D., Robert and Jena Harmon; A. J. and Lucy West. One sister, Nancy Shelton of Orangeburg, SC and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Robert Weathers; brothers: George Hector (Pete) Kirven, Jr., Phillip J. Kirven, Sr. and Donald E. Kirven; a step-grandson: Larry Charles (Chuck) Hargrove, Jr. Funeral Services were held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Bowman Southern Methodist Church, with Reverend John Norris Harmon and Pastor John Konieczko officiating. Burial followed in Bowman Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends Saturday from 5 - 7 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers were Hal Arant, David Jordan, David Hill, James Y. White, Jr., Tim Floyd, Ron Weathers, Joel Kirven and Phil Kirven. Members of the Gladys Weathers Missionary Society will serve as honorary pallbearers.
