She was the wife of Robert Ervin "Bob" Lisenbee (1837-1926). Her husband's sister, Vianna Lisenbee, married her brother, John Metcalf Sr. (both are buried at Metcalf - Bruce Cemetery). John Metcalf Sr. & Robert Ervin "Bob" Lisenbee joined the Union Army during the Civil War. Jane & Vianna stayed together while their husbands were off fighting.
