Description	:	Mrs. Jane McVey, age 63 years, the 8th day of this month, died at her home on north Main street yesterday noon, a paralytic stroke being the cause of death. Mrs. McVey had the stroke about a week ago, never recovering from the attack. She was the mother of eight children of whom five are living. Mr. Marion McVey, the other child, arrived yesterday from Wyman, Iowa. Mrs. McVey and children have made their home in or near La Harpe for some time and have a number of friends, who earnestly extend their sympathy during the sad bereavement of the family. The funeral services were held this morning at ten o'clock at the home and interment occurred in the Moran cemetery. The husband, Mr. McVey, was laid to rest in that cemetery some ten years ago. IOLA REGISTER THURSDAY, APRIL 28, 1910 Mrs. Jane McVey was born April 8th, 1847, in Morgan county Indiana. When twelve years of age she moved with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Russell, to (McGoopen?) county Illinois, where she lived with her parents until she was married to C.B. McVey, January 11th 1866. Shortly after marriage, Mr. and Mrs. McVey removed to southeastern Iowa, where they remained until 1896. They moved to La Harpe, Kans., where, or near where, they resided ever since. Mr. McVey dying April 12, 1908. Mrs. McVey continued to live here until her death, which occurred April 27th, 1910, at the home of her son, Lee McVey, on north Main street, La Harpe. Her death was due to a stroke of paralysis which she had a few days prior to her death and from which she never recovered. She was the mother of eight children, five of whom are living, two dying in infancy and the other, Mrs. Etta Gray, dying in 1904, in northeastern Nebraska. Lee McVey, who now lives in La Harpe; Ed McVey who lives on the old home place north of town; Wes McVey who lives near Bronson; Mrs. Entsminger of Uniontown and C.M. McVey of Wyman, Iowa, all of which were present at the funeral, which was held at the home of Lee McVey, Thursday at 10 o'clock a.m. Interment was made in the Moran cemetery, where her husband was laid to rest two years ago.
