Description	:	Russ married Sarah Oct 19, 1884 in Pottawattamie, Iowa and they had three sons and one daughter. The family came to Innisfail from North Dakota in 1906 to purchase a homestead. They first settled in the Raven district, then in 1912 he and his family moved to a homestead near Caroline. Russ often had to work out in sawmills and logging camps to get enough money to live and operate his farm. Many times there was no meat on the table for a meal. The family came to Innisfail from North Dakota in 1906 to purchase a homestead. They first settled in the Raven district, then in 1912 he and his family moved to a homestead near Caroline. Russ often had to work out in sawmills and logging camps to get enough money to live and operate his farm. Many times there was no meat on the table for a meal. Sarah once took up an old shotgun to shoot some prairie chickens. She got one chicken, but also knocked out a front tooth. Russ and Sarah had three sons and one daughter; Raymond, Glen, Arthur, and Lulu. Sarah was always a very warm and hospitable woman. Her home was open to everyone. After Russ died, she was housekeeper for G.W. West until she remarried James Leask of Caroline. She later became blind and lived in Innisfail until her passing.
