In 1885 along with children, Lewis G., Lydia, Matie and Mamie, they moved to a farm northeast of Uniontown. Son Jay S. was born to the couple after moving to the Uniontown area. "In 1909, Jake and Sarah retired from the farm and moved to Uniontown. Sarah then provided overnight lodging and meals for salesmen and travelers using using the services of the Livery Stable operated by her son Boze (Lewis G.). "Sarah and Jacob celebrated their 50th anniversary at the home in Uniontown November 22, 1922. On the evening of this occasion, 81 members of the Methodist Church Sunday School, as a surprise, walked to the home one block south of the church and in the yard sang 'Silver Threads Among the Gold,' and then were greeted into the home for the festive occasion. The home is now (1991) owned by Charles Klenklen. "Sarah and Jake were active in the Uniontown Methodist Church. Uncle Jake took pride in his records of perfect attendance for a period of 13 years. Sarah was president of the Ladies Aid Society of the church for many years. "Sarah passed away at the home in Uniontown, December 14, 1926. Services were at the Uniontown Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. J.W. Mosslander and Rev. Ryan of Redfield. Pallbearers were: W.A. Stroud, F.M. Draper, G.W. Kerlee, R.M. Joyce, Ernest Clark and Sherman Ramsey. Interment was in the Uniontown Cemetery. "Jacob passed away at 8:30 a.m. August 11, 1934, while working in his garden at home in Uniontown. Services were at the Uniontown Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Rector Green and Rev. J.W. Mosslander. Pallbearers were: W.A. Stroud, Alva Hartman, Sam Smith, Frank Draper, Sam Holt and Claud Bayless. Interment was in the Uniontown Cemetery."
