Sarah Bovender, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Bovender, was born near Yakinville, North Carolina on June 19, 1878 and passed away at the Gilmore Nursing Home in Nevada on Friday evening, August 16, 1957 at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 29 days. She fell in her home in Maxwell Thanksgiving evening 1956 and broke her hip and has failed in health until her death. She was united in marriage September 10, 1893 to John C. Myers, of Yakinville, North Carolina, who with two infant sons, have preceded her in death. She is survived by fifteen living children, 28 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, also two living sisters, Amelia Brown, of New Castle, Indiana and Bertha Bovender, of Winston Salem, North Carolina. The surviving children are: Mary Jane Stauffer, of Marshalltown, Ia.; Luther Myers, of Colo, Ia.; Wilfred Myers, of Turlock, Calif.; Ada Mesler, of Des Moines, Ia.; Gertie Myers of Monroe, Ia.; Myrtle Myers, of Mitchellville, Ia.; Etta Otto, of Nevada, Ia.; Laura Teldt, of Clinton, Ia.; Lester Myers, of Nevada, Ia.; Lloyd Myers, of Ames, Ia.; Donald Myers, of Ames, Ia.; Dale Myers, of Nevada, Ia.; Fred Myers, of Maxwell, Ia.; Lou Ellen Stebbins, of Maxwell, Ia. And Lois Weatherman, of Omaha, Neb. Mrs. Myers was of a quiet unassuming person. She made many friends, a kind and good neighbor and leaves to mourn her departure a large number of friends and neighbors. She was a kind and considerate wife and thoughtful and painstaking mother, always mindful of the needs and comforts of the members of her family."
