Description	:	Obituary of Sarah Breeden 1798 – 1880 Mrs. Sarah Breeden whose maiden name was Sarah Lockhart, was born in Rockingham County Virginia in the year 1798. When about 8 years of age, she removed with her parents to Jefferson County, Tennessee. At the age of 16, she publicly manifested an interest in religion by uniting with the M.E. Read More	Obituary of Sarah Breeden 1798 – 1880 Mrs. Sarah Breeden whose maiden name was Sarah Lockhart, was born in Rockingham County Virginia in the year 1798. When about 8 years of age, she removed with her parents to Jefferson County, Tennessee. At the age of 16, she publicly manifested an interest in religion by uniting with the M.E. Church but it was not until 11 years afterward that she came to the full assurance of faith in Christ. In the 19th year of her age, she was married to Richard Breeden. In the year 1832, they removed to Ripley Co., Indiana. About 1858, she and her husband united with the United Brethren Church where her membership was until called to the Church above. Soon after the death of her husband, which occurred in 1864, she removed to Jasper Co. Iowa where she made her home with her children. During the later years of her life, she has been with her daughter, Mrs. Howard Durfee at Kellogg where after a short illness of a little more than a week, on the morning of Nov. 26, 1880, she sweetly fell asleep in Jesus with perfect and a full assurance of a blessed immortality. Aged 82 years. Her remains were deposited in the Hickory Grove cemetery to await the resurrection morn. Found in: Burroughs Family History. Volume 1. by Lola Frances Murphy McMeen. 1978. page 21.
