The funeral took place Saturday afternoon from the family home on North Carroll street, Rev. W.H. Jordan of the Presbyterian church conducting the services, after which deceased was laid to rest in the Carroll cemetery. All of the seven children except Ross, and eighteen grandchildren were present at the funeral. Mrs. Moore was born Sarah Lundy in County Monaghan, Ireland, in 1821, her mother dying in childbirth. Her father emigrated to Peale county, Canada, when the little girl was two years old. They afterward moved to Toronto, where in 1844, she was married to Ross Moore. From this union there were born seven children, all still living. They are: Mrs. D.N. Smith of Rome, Ga.; Mrs. Hummell of Grinell, Iowa; Mrs. John Chambers of this city, and Charles, William, Young, and Ross Moore jr. William resides in the Second ward, Charles and Young in Sheridan township. In 1873 Mr. and Mrs. Moore came to Carroll county, living on a farm in Sheridan township for five years, when they returned to Canada. There they remained until 1892, when they moved to the home in this city where they have since resided. They celebrated their golden wedding nine years ago and had she lived until next November they would have been married sixty years. When a young girl, Mrs. Moore united with the Presbyerian church, of which both she and her husband have been consistent members for more than three score and ten years, being a regular attendant at the services until bodily infirmities made it impossible. She died in the fullness of years and has gone to her rest beyond the grave, reserved for those who put their trust in Him who doeth all things well. The famly have the sympathy of all their friends in their bereavement.
