Description	:	CENTRAL CITY — Margaret Killham, 96, of Central City died Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Central City Long Term Care. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home, with Pastor Curt Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Central City Cemetery. Read More	CENTRAL CITY — Margaret Killham, 96, of Central City died Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Central City Long Term Care. Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City is in charge of the arrangements. Sarah Marguerite Jenness was born Jan. 18, 1921, in Islandton, S.C., to Claude Elmer Jenness and Sarah Elizabeth Godley. Margaret grew up in South Carolina and graduated in 1939 from Hendersonville High School, where she participated in many class plays. After High School, she worked at the Naval Hospital in Charleston, S.C., where she met her husband, George Killham, who was serving in the Seabees during World War II. The couple was married in Central City on June 8, 1945. They lived their entire married life of 53 years in Central City. To this marriage were born four children, Richard, Dan, Kathy and Dennis. Margaret enjoyed working as a waitress at the Black Cat Café and Central Café. Margaret was an active member of the First Christian Church in Central City for over 50 years. She served as president of the Dorcas Circle and on several other Church committees. Margaret was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and loved selling Poppies on Veterans Day. She also did volunteer work at the Blood Mobile and Thrift Shop. Her hobbies included playing cards, fishing, gardening and planting flowers in her yard. She is survived by a son, Richard (Pam) Killham of Cookeville, Tenn.; a daughter, Kathy (Randy) Wegner of Archer; daughter-in-law, Joleen Killham of Lincoln; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alford and Carol Killham of Grand Island; sister-in-law, Shirley Hilligas of Grand Island; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George; two sons, Dan and Dennis; a grandson, Colby Wegner; her parents; and siblings, James, Jethro, Johnny Mae, Kathryn and infant sister, Betty.
