| Description | : | Sarah Gerber was born August 5 1801 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania to Amish parents, Abraham and Magdalena Gerber. In 1812, Sarah, age 11, moved with her family to Holmes County, Ohio. About 1823 Sarah married Jacob Stutzman (1798- 1850). Six children were born to the union, Christian, Abraham, David Jacob G, Magdalena and John. In 1850 Sarah’s husband Jacob died by which time their youngest; John, was 18 years of age.
