She was married to Lewis Jones Hill, the son of John A. Hill and Pauline/Polly Burrell Hill on November 4, 1883. Read More	Sarah Matilda Yates was born June 26, 1858 in Miller County, Missouri and died at Leon, Iowa, November 7, 1918, aged 60 years, 4 months, and 11 days. She was married to Lewis Jones Hill, the son of John A. Hill and Pauline/Polly Burrell Hill on November 4, 1883. To them were born five children, Lloyd Melvin, Mrs. Henry (Myrtle) Downey, Mrs. Elva (Minnie) Baker, Fird Douglas, and Ora Etta, dying at the age of eleven who preceded her mother to the better world. Besides her husband and children, she leaves three granddaughters, four sisters and one brother to mourn her departure. She was a quiet, self-sacrificing mother; a good kind obliging neighbor woman, and will be greatly missed by her loved ones and a wide circle of friends. she never was so happy as when she had her family around her. The funeral was held at Bethel Baptist Church, November 8th, conducted by evangelist, James A. Armstrong and wife.
