Her death was very sudden and was caused by an embolism, a clot of blood forming on the heart. Mrs. Leslie fell a week ago last Sunday and broke her hip. This accident is thought may have brought about the illness which resulted in her death. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the old home place at 2 o'clock conducted by Rev. W. H. Shields of the First Presbyterian church; interment in the Hillsboro Cemetery. She is survived by seven children, three sons, Frank, Will and Albert and four daughters, Misses Ella, Marie and May and Mr. Robert Pope, all of whom live in or near Hillsboro. Mrs. Leslie was born in Ireland, coming to Highland with her husband, Hugh Leslie, about fifty years ago. She was a life-long member of the Presbyterian church. No woman can have a nobler calling than to be a faithful wife, a real helpmate to her husband and to rear and educate a family of children and this is a description of the life of Mrs. Leslie.
