Description	:	Sarah Ramsden Wholstenholm, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ramsden, was born at Lanceshire, England, December 10, 1856. She passed away at her home in Exeter July 14, 1945, at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 4 days. When a year old she came with her parents to Peoria, Ill., where she grew to young womanhood. She passed away at her home in Exeter July 14, 1945, at the age of 88 years, 7 months and 4 days. When a year old she came with her parents to Peoria, Ill., where she grew to young womanhood. When nineteen years old, she came to Exeter and this has been her home ever since. During these sixty-nine years many changes have taken place in the country. Tallow candles changed to kerosene lamps and on to electric lights. The means of transportation changed from oxen and horses to diesel liners and airplanes. We cannot but understand why they often stood amazed at the great progress "which God has wrought through the hands of man." Loving the home, she gave herself in the homes of others until going to her own home. She was united in marriage with Miles Wholstenholm March 8, 1884 in York County, just three miles from where she went as a bride to her own home. She lived in her own home on the farm north of Exeter fifty-nine years. Her only move during her married life came when she and Ruth moved to Exeter to make their home while she awaited her call Home. To this union four children came to bless the home. After a fall, which broke her hip, she found herself confined to the wheel chair for the last fifteen years of her life. She was not one to complain. Often she expressed the wish that she might be more useful and that is to be expected of one who worked as hard and for so many years. She loved to joke and laugh with her friends and loved ones. It was always an inspiration to visit with her. Early in life she gave her life to Christ and united with the church. She held her membership in the Pleasant Ridge Church until it merged with the Exeter Methodist Church. She had always remained faithful and loyal to her Christ and her church. She leaves four children, Ruth, Felix and Mrs. Freda Gillian of Exeter and Mrs. Alice Tatman of Lincoln; one sister, Mrs. Alice Hollock of McCool, Neb.; one granddaughter, Miss Donna Lee Tatman of Lincoln, as well as a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church in Exeter at 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 16, with Rev. L. A. Fishel of the Fairmont Methodist Church in charge. Burial was in the Exeter Cemetery.
