KINER'S DEATH VERY GREAT SHOCK Esteemed Ida Grove Woman Expired in Her Sleep Sunday Morning Ida Grove Pioneer Record Nov. 10, 1932 The Ida Grove community was grieved beyond expression Sunday morning upon hearing that Mrs. Frederick C. Kiner had passed into the eternal sleep at an early hour that day. When she retired the night before, she had mentioned having a severe headache and had apparently been stricken during her sleep. She had returned on Saturday from a two weeks visit with her daughter at Cherokee, and during that period she had apparently been in her usual health. Mrs. Kiner's Funeral was held Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 9 at the late home on Quimby Street, followed by a public service at two thirty in the First Presbyterian church, where she had held membership. Rev. Raymond Jinkerson was the officiating pastor, assisted by Rev. W. P. Fink. Sarah Peters Kiner, the youngest daughter of Nicholas and Gertrude Elizabeth Peters, was born on Feb. 24, 1866 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She came with her parents to Iowa, and settled in Ida Grove in 1882. She died in her home in Ida Grove at 2:15 in the morning of November 6, 1932. Her father and mother preceded her in death Feb. 5th and 6th, 1892. She was married to Frederick C. Kiner on Feb 11, 1892. To this union four children were born. Coroda Peters of Fargo, N.D., Gertrude Elizabeth Jensen, Cherokee; Reese Frederick Kiner, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Gwynne Denison, Ida Grove. She leaves to mourn their loss, her loving husband, 4 children, 5 grandchildren and a host of friends. It was not that she had many, many friends, it was that there was never a living soul who had an unkind thought for her.
