Mrs. Montant was born in Whitmire on February 29 1912 a daughter of the late Charles Alexander Calhoun and Mrs. Jannie Wright Calhoun. She was a graduate of Winyah High School Converse College, and the University of South Carolina School of Law. Mrs. Montant taught school for a time in Whitmire. She lived in Cincinnati Ohio prior to returning to live in Georgetown. She had been employed as a legal worker in Washington DC a Circuit Court worker in Spartanburg, and was a Chapter Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Cincinnati. Mrs. Montant was a member of the Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. She was married to the late Louis T. Montant Jr who died in 1983. Surviving are a brother in law A. Philappe Montant of Stuart Fla; a sister in law E. Gayle McGuivan of New York NY; and a number of cousins. The family suggests memorials to the church or charity of one's choice.
