The deceased was 80 years of age and bronchitis was the cause of her death. Mrs. Stiner was quite well known in the city. (transcribed by Judy Mayfield) Arkansas City Daily Traveler Arkansas City, Kansas Thursday, April 23, 1908 Page 7 Died Mrs. Sarah Trimble Stiner, born February 16, 1827, died April 16, 1908. Aged 81 years, 2 months and 3 days. Deceased was born in Muskingdom Co., Ohio, was married to C. Stiner on the 13th day of August 1846. In 1858 they moved from Ohio to Edgar county, Ill. They came to Cowley county, Kan. in 1869 and have resided here since that time, making Geuda Springs their home since 1871. Mrs. Stiner converted and became a member of the United Brethren church several years ago but about two years ago she place her membership with the Christian church at Geuda Springs. Mrs. Stiner was the mother of 12 children 6 of whom have preceeded her to the region beyond; the six living are Mrs. Rachel Speers, a resident of Geuda Springs, Hugh Stiner of Salida, Colorado, Manford Stiner and Liman Stiner, residents of Geuda Springs, Mrs. John Collier of Winfield, Mrs. R.E. Collier of Geuda Springs. Mrs. Stiner's last illness was extended and very severe but through it all she manifested a Christ like spirit and endured her suffering with christian fortitude. Her husband, children and friends ministered to her as best they could but there comes a time in the experience of all when human help must fail. Hers was a beautiful spirit that never complained and would rather suffer herself than cause others to suffer and her life is a benediction that should never be forgotten. She had implicit confidence in God trusting Him to the very last and died in the triumphs of a living faith, ready and waiting for the Masters call, "Well done good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joys of thy Lord."
