Read More	Published in The Daily Record December 19 to 26, 2013 Sasie Lou Bates, a lifelong resident of Ellensburg, WA, died Tuesday December 17, 2013, at Kittitas Valley Health and Rehab. Sasie was born to Dan and Leta (Montgomery) Bates, descendents of the pioneer Ferguson family. Sasie was 88 years old. She graduated from Ellensburg High School and quickly became employed at the Kittitas County Dairymen's Association. In later years Sasie could be found in the front of Sprouse Reitz at Christmas time ringing the bell for the Salvation Army She was a lifelong member of both the Elks Emblem club and the Women of the Moose. Sasie served in various officer positions in these organizations. Her greatest pleasure came from serving and keeping everyone's coffee cup hot and filled at the moose dinners. You could often see Sasie driving her mother on the country roads of Kittitas Valley, enjoying the sites where they both called home. Sasie is survived by her cousins Walter (Janet) Bates of Ellensburg And Kenneth (Janice) Bates of SeaTac. She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles. We thank the Kittitas County Rehab caretakers for their constant caring of Sasie in the many years she lived there. We also thank Brookside Funeral Home and Crematory for their care. There will be viewing at Brookside Funeral Home and Crematory on Monday, December 23, 2013, at 10:00AM until 12:00pm. A graveside service will be at IOOF Cemetery at 1:00PM.
