Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Stokes County on March 18, 1921 to Ichabod and Bertha Tuttle Heath. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Read More	Savannah Louise Heath Abbott March 18, 1921 - June 3, 2012 Savannah Louise Heath Abbott, 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Stokes County on March 18, 1921 to Ichabod and Bertha Tuttle Heath. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved her Lord and Savior and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Faith for 68 years. She was a member of Buffalo Primitive Baptist Church of Sandy Ridge. Mrs. Abbott was retired from Felica Hosiery of Kernersville and was also employed by Washington Mills. A 2 p.m. funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Burroughs Chapel with Elder Clarence Bowman, Elder Milton Gunter, Elder Joey Jenkins and Elder Rodney Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Palmyra United Methodist Church Cemetery. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Elder Reuben C. Abbott; a son, Reuben Voit Abbott; son-in-law, Robert Franklin Mounce; daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Church Abbott; three brothers, Elmer, Ray and Buddy Heath; three sisters, Beulah Watson, Ethel Chapman and Wilma Abbott. Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Phyllis Abbott Mounce of Mayodan, Jenny Abbott Puckett and husband Allen of Oak Ridge; son, Michael Dan Abbott and wife Clara Ann of Germanton; five grandchildren, Julie Mabe, Michelle Watson, Regina Ross, Amy Hairston, David Moore; nine great grandchildren, Melanie Marsh, Zachary and Andrew Hairston, Summer Watson, Evan Webb, Savannah and Owen Ross, Kayla and Aubrey Moore; one great-great granddaughter, Destiny Marsh; one sister, Magdalene Matthews of Winston-Salem and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, June 5 at Burroughs Funeral Home and other times at the home. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Oak Forest Nursing and Rehabilitation and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for the loving care given to their mother. Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
