Description	:	Sayde Elizabeth Longnecker Kingsbury was born March 6, 1879 in Portland, Oregon, the daughter of William Joshua and Emeline Longnecker, and the oldest of eight children. With her family and parents she moved to Defiance, Iowa at the age of six years, and spent the greater part of her life as a resident of Shelby county. In 1928-29 she lived at Carroll and since 1938 has made her home at Ames. With her family and parents she moved to Defiance, Iowa at the age of six years, and spent the greater part of her life as a resident of Shelby county. In 1928-29 she lived at Carroll and since 1938 has made her home at Ames. IN 1899 she was united in marriage to Edwin Riley Kingsbury who preceded her in death in 1930. The children are Mrs Ethel (John) Plagman of Corley, Delbert of Des Moines, Mrs Grace (Milton) Vogel of Topeka, Kansas and Harold of Whittier, California. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs Myrtle Miller of Jefferson and two brothers, Morton of Jefferson and Everett of Manilla. Two sisters preceded her in death only recently. Mrs Kingsbury died at Myrtue Memorial hospital in harlan February 2 at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 26 days. She was an active member of the Collegiate Methodist church at Ames taking part in the Womens Society of Christian Service and regularly participating in the Sunday School Class for those of the Golden Age Group. She was a charger member of the Golden Age Group of Ames. The W.C.T.U. was a special interest of hers as was the Republican Club of Story County. She maintained her membership in the Defiance chapter of the O.E.S. and had served in many of the offices while living at Defiance. Last rites were held from the Pauley Funeral Home in Harlan on Saturday, February 4 with the Rev. Robert Dragoo of Defiance in charge. Pallbearers were Richard Longnecker, Leo Kingsbury, Richard Meyer, Edwin Plagman, Harry Petersen Jr. and Floyd Bergman. Burial was in the Union Township cemetery at Defiance.
