Description	:	Born in Mainz. Germany he was the son of Joseph and Margaretha Shauermann of Mainz, Germany. He married into the Brugger family and Hoisery manufacturing business, after the marriage it became Brugger and Son. At first this writer thought this gentleman's name was Sebastion Christopher Brugger, but quickly learned he was not a blood relative. Plans were in place at the time just prior of his father in laws death to open either another Hoisery mill or consolidate and start a new one in a larger building, in Goffstown where they had bought a mill with water... Read More	Born in Mainz. Germany he was the son of Joseph and Margaretha Shauermann of Mainz, Germany. He married into the Brugger family and Hoisery manufacturing business, after the marriage it became Brugger and Son. At first this writer thought this gentleman's name was Sebastion Christopher Brugger, but quickly learned he was not a blood relative. Plans were in place at the time just prior of his father in laws death to open either another Hoisery mill or consolidate and start a new one in a larger building, in Goffstown where they had bought a mill with water rights, that never happened, most likely to to Mr. Brugger dying. In the 1880 census Mr. Christophe was a payroll master in the Cotton Mill. On an interesting note this writer found a Patent's Journal with an application filed December 5, 1874 by John Brugger and Sebastian Christophe of Manchester, NH for a claim, "as a new and improved manufacturer of a knit hood constructed of woolen yarn, worsted and constructed with the see Section B, C for protecting the face, horizontal eye slits (E). The edges of which are capable of being closed by means of a button connection where the collar is worn and the elastic neck piece (D) for fitting the neck closely substantially as described and specified." It almost appears that this might be a ski mask which is used in bank robberies this date! octor He remarried Tina Custer daughter of Doctor Henry Custer, after the death of his wife Pina.
