She was married to Henry F. Beezley Jan 29, 1868 in Henderson Co, Illinois. (Mr Beezley had served with the "Union Forces" during the Civil War). Shortly after their marriage, Mr and Mrs Beezley moved from Illinois to Lee Co Iowa and from there they moved to Page County Iowa. From Page Co Iowa they moved to Kansas where they lived a few years. They returned to Page Co. Iowa in 1892 and settled in Yorktown. Mr and Mrs Beezley were parents of 15 children eight of whom are still living: William H. of Yorktown; Al of Sheridan, Mo; Elmer of Gravity, Ia; Ollie of Page Center, Ia; Newton of Yorktown; Ernest L. of Cedar Rapids, Ia; Mrs Nettie Mathes of Yorktown; and Mrs Lillie Carlson of Essex, Ia. Her husband departed this life Dec 25, 1915. In her early life Mrs Beezley united in membership with the Methodist Church. After making her home in Yorktown Mrs Beezley transferred her membership to the Yorktown Methodist church where she has remained a faithful and loyal member. Grandma Beezley, as she came to be known, was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family and did not spare herself in ministering to the many needs in her own household. Her interest and sympathy, however, extended beyond that of her own household to her neighbors and friends. In addition to her home duties, Grandma Beezley, somehow managed to lend aid and sympathy, in a practical way, to her friends and neighbors in the hours of sickness and death. Her many acts of kindness won for her a host of friends. In the later years of her life she became afflicted with asthma. This affliction caused her a great deal of suffering which she bore patiently. The affliction of asthma together with her increased age caused Grandma Beezley to be confined to her home. The young people of the Epworth League, in making their route in going out to sing carols on Christmas Eve to shut-ins, were always sure to include Grandma Beezley on their list. Her kind words, expressing deep gratitude, won for her many friends among the young people. She leaves to mourn her death : one brother, two sisters, eight children, twenty-two grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of other relatives. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Episcopal Church at Yorktown at 2 pm by the Rev E.B. Stewart, with a mixed quartet in charge of Mrs W.H. Chaffin.
