Selma Amanda Esther Wardenburg was born Feb. 2, 1935, in Troy Township, Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Adolph and Minnie Glandorf Wardenburg. She received her elementary schooling at St. Paul Lutheran School in Williamsburg and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1953. She married Eugene Thomas Plotz on April 21, 1956, in Williamsburg. Besides being a homemaker, Selma was employed at various businesses over the years, including Amana Refrigeration, Holden Seed, Amana Holiday Inn, Roehrkasse Meat and Williamsburg Manufacturing. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg and enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre and sheepshead.
