Selma Catlett of Anamosa died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2001, at the Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa, following a brief illness. Selma Rosetta W. Antons was born Sept. 28, 1920 at Center Junction, the daughter of Gerhard and Dena Luerkens Antons. She attended school at Center Junction. On Feb. 8, 1939, she married Gail Catlett at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Monticello. The couple farmed in the Center Junction area their entire married life. Survivors include seven daughters, Sally (Lee) Edwards of Anamosa, Jerie (Don) Starry of Monticello, Janice (Gary) Thompson of Wichita Falls, Texas, Kathy (Randy) Sauer of Olin, Linda (Jon) Kreger of Olin, Jane (Jim Bicknese) Majzel of Oxford Junction, Terri Schmitt of Anamosa; one son, Gary (Theresa) Catlett of Knox, Ind.; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two sisters Ann Hinrichs of Maquoketa, Caroline Ortgies of Monticello, and four sisters-inlaw: Pauline Antons and Dorothy Antons, both of Center Junction, Lois Catlett of Monticello and Lois Callett of Hopkinton. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Gail in 1976; a son-in-law, Vince Schmitt; two brothers, Richard and Raymond Antons and four sisters, Tena Petersen, Mame Osterkamp, Elsie Dirks and Dorothy Rickels.
