On Dec. 7, 1953, he married Kathleen L. Miller, and she survives in Oscoda, Mich. Also surviving are three sons, Steve (Charlene), Jeff (Brenda) and Chris (Tina); two daughters, Lori (Tod) Huebner, and Suzy (Dale) Bachelor; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and his hobbies included reading, woodworking, fishing, and playing cards. A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta.
