Craig was born May 1, 1958 in Marshalltown, son of Richard and Janet (Hilsabeck) Stackhouse. He was raised and educated in Marshalltown, graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1976. Stackhouse, 51, died on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at the Iowa Veterans' Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. Craig was born May 1, 1958 in Marshalltown, son of Richard and Janet (Hilsabeck) Stackhouse. He was raised and educated in Marshalltown, graduating from Marshalltown High School in 1976. He attended Iowa State University for two years where he studied agri-business and then farmed in the Marshalltown area until 2004 when he became ill. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from July 2, 1979 until July 1, 1983. He was stationed in Turkey for a year and then at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, Neb. He attained the rank of Sergeant. After his active military service he served with the Iowa Air Guard, 132 Air Squadron, for 12 years. He was a member of the Liscomb Church of Christ and Post No. 681 of the Conrad American Legion. Craig is survived by his parents, Richard and Janet Stackhouse of rural Marshalltown; brothers, Kirk of Portland, Connecticut and Kent (Debora) of Waterloo; and nieces Jessica and Brooke. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wayne and Dorothy (Fiscus) Stackhouse and maternal grandparents, Delbert and Olive (Ridgeway) Hilsabeck.
